“The members feel like we’re one great big family,” Kathy Paavola said. “Everybody who comes out here .... They just love it.”

The Coon Lake Beach Annual Pig Roast Corn Feed August 2005

We couldn't have asked for a better day. Beautiful weather, great food and friends. All on the shores of Coon Lake Minnesota. The cookers were lit hours before the guest arrived. You could smell the waving aroma blocks way.

Around noon 28 horseshoe players set off on a double elimination contest. Shortly after the corn pit fire was set. Beer flowed, the band played, old friendships were revisited and new ones made.

Around 5 the dinning began with some 128 adults and 22 children all joining round the tables. All told an estimated 200 to 250 guest-members came and joined in the festivities.

We gratefully thank the volunteers one and all and hope to see you here next year. On The Beach, Coon Lake Beach. Until then enjoy our photos.

Our oddest visitor turned up in the donation box at the beer stand. A one dollar bill that is being tracted round the country. See where it is now.

Coon Lake Anoka, MN

Our lake - 1,400+ acres of water make Coon lake the largest lake in Anoka County. For you folks who like to fish, Coon twice held the Minnesota State Record for the White Crappie weighing in at 3 lbs. 4oz. Coon is also a great northern and bass lake.
If fishing is not for you, then how about water skiing, jet skiing, boating or pleasently pontooning. How about a good old fashioned picnic at the beach. With over 230' of sandy beach there is plenty of room to picnic or play water volly ball or just relax and read a good book
