Coon Lake Anoka, MN
Our lake - 1,400+ acres of
water make Coon lake the largest lake

County. For you folks who like to fish, Coon twice held the Minnesota
State Record for the White Crappie
weighing in at 3 lbs. 4oz. Coon is also a
great northern and bass

If fishing is
not for you, then how about water skiing, jet skiing, boating or pleasently
pontooning. How
about a good old fashioned picnic at the beach. With over 230' of sandy
beach there is plenty of room to picnic or play water volly ball or
just relax and read a good book.

5-11-2011
Last wednesday, the park was alive with the sound of cheering fans and hot bats. After a seesaw battle where each team was practically hitting the hide of the ball, our home team won...22-20. This year the team is sponsored by EJ's Bar and Grill. The old Ramblers team is now called EJ's Beach Bums. We thought of calling it Bart and the Beach Bums, but his head would explode from "self over-inflation". ha ha.
The Beach Bums started hitting first, getting 5 runs in the top of the first. ML Auto, the adversary of the evening, reponded with 5 runs of their own. It was going to be a hitter's night. Dan the big Kahuna got two big homers. As did Don Juan, although he pitched like Juan Berenger, the old twin..all arm --no glove. We got to get a fishing net for that guy!! Lindy popped one out of the park to the delight of the semi-sober fans. I heard the cheers made "soybean" drop his coffee in his lap, then mutter something about McDonald's. ha ha.
There was two outstanding defensive plays. Sam,"heart of gold", Harvey made a sliding catch near the fence along the leftfield foul line. And, Sam, "Mr. Home-field-advantage", Thompson made a spectacular double play in bottom of the seventh to help secure the victory.
All are invited to the next game, this coming wednesday the 18th,at the coon lake beach field. Come cheer on Bart and the boys..the beach bums. They play at 630pm against the Challengers.
You might want to bring a fishing net!
